Whittier St. Back To School BBQ Volunteering
What: The Whittier Street Health Center serves Roxbury and surrounding communities which have historically been at great health risk due to poverty, neglect by the nation's healthcare system, and cultural and linguistic barriers to health care access. APAF is collaborating with the health center for their Back To School BBQ, where people from the community can come together to celebrate the new school year with good food and fun. Looking for volunteers to help out both the day before the event to pack ~500 GE-sponsored backpacks with school supplies, as well as the day of the event to set up for and staff the actual BBQ!
