At our meeting on Wednesday, June 19, Ted Russell will reveal events that contributed to the successful development of aviation in New England, including GE's contributions.
Ted Russell is a 36-year veteran of GE who spent most of his career at the Riverworks plant on engineering assignments including mechanics of materials, life management, and root cause analysis. He became involved with local aviation history with the Plum Island Community Airfield, a non-profit organization that he founded to prevent the Plum Island Airport from closing twenty years ago. He subsequently led the creation of the Burgess Aviation Museum and has given numerous presentations on the history of aviation on the North Shore. He will also speak on GE's contributions to aviation including those of Gerhard Neumann and Sanford Moss.
