GEOTA & GBEA Luncheon - Marine Captain John Nicoll

Hope that everyone enjoyed the summer. On September 24, we will hear from an experienced Marine Captain speaking on his experiences at sea and the personal qualities required to stay safe.

Marine Captain John Nicoll spent 40 years as a merchant mariner including 17 years as a container ship captain. A Mass Maritime graduate, John grew up in Lynn and now resides in New Hampshire. Following the container ship accident this year that wrecked the bridge in Baltimore. he was contacted by CNN and Fox News to offer his take on the event. His extensive experience proved helpful in getting to the underlying causes of this and other maritime accidents. He will discuss his experiences along with his insights on the important qualities that are needed to keep a ship, its cargo, and its crew safe while successfully completing the voyage.
