Happy new year everyone! On January 21, we will hear from Scott Snyder, GE Aerospace's Director of Heavy Lift Programs, on the CH-53K, considered to be the world's most advanced helicopters and the latest iteration of the Sikorsky CH-53 series. The GE Aerospace T408 engines that power it are a version of the GE38 rated at 7,500 shp enabling the aircraft to fly 20 knots faster than its predecessor.
Scott Snyder is Director, Heavy Lift Programs and leads the product line teams for the T408 and T64 engines. A BSME graduate of Dalhouse University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he began a career at GE Aerospace as a design engineer in Controls and Accessories and later held product management roles on the F404, F414, TF34 and J85 engines. More recently, Scott became Director of CT7 programs and then F414/F404 programs in support of F/A-18 customers.
